The cheapest Nissan GT-R available is the GT-R Pure which sets the foundation from which all the other models following are based on, with its 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 562 bhp that uses a drive by wire throttle response system seen in hypercars and Formula 1 race cars. The transmission for the Pure is a 6 speed fully automatic with shifting paddles for manual changes, the cars ECU can match revs while downshifting and the dual clutch system will pre-select the next gear whether it is one above or below depending on how you drive, (only in R-mode). There is also a specific race launch control system to guarantee optimum acceleration off the line. The GT-R sits on an asymmetrical suspension setup that has aluminium members for less weight. Race performance Bilstein DampTronic shock absorbers are adjustable according to the selected driver mode, adaptive steering allows the driver to be more precise when driving at lower speeds allowing for less steering input. To help keep your prized GT-R safe Nissan install as standard front and rear parking sensors, along with their intelligent key and push to start ignition, rain sensitive windscreen wipers adaptable cruise control and the manufacturers most sophisticated multi-media and navigation system for any base model. The sound is delivered by an eleven speaker Bose audio set up with noise cancelling and enhanced sound activity. Inside the Pure has heated seats an 8-way electrical adjusted driver seat with 4-way adjustable passenger seats, and a Carbon fibre trimmed centre console.
The marginal increase of £3,000 for the GT-R Recaro is for a black and red Recaro sport style leather seats as well as a matching pattern interior. The GT-R is available in storm white, pearl black, gun metallic, Ultimate silver and vibrant red.
Upgrading to the Nissan GT-R Prestige opens a few more options such as standard black touring leather seats and interior while red, ivory and tan leather colours are also available for an additional £1,000. A for a GT-R Prestige you also get 20" Rays 5 Y spoke forged alloy wheels.
For those that are looking for a weekend toy the Nissan GT-R track edition is the lighter and stripped out version of the road going car with additional options such as Katsura Orange and Daytona Blue being added to the list of paint options. Wheels are changed to be the 20" 6 spoke black RAYS forged from a light alloy. Black and red Recaro seats can be chosen but only with specific paint colour configurations.
Top of the GT-R tree is the fastest production car made by Nissan and produced by Nismo, this trim is available with an exclusive 600 PS engine that uses all of its power to max out at 196 mph and reaches 60 mph from 0 in 2.9 seconds. A car that can deliver everything it promises thanks to its constant adjustments to power, suspension, aerodynamics on the rear wing, gearbox and a number of other minor changes that allow you to focus on the experience of driving and enjoy. The final option on the top of the range Nissan GT-R is a carbon fibre boot lid to save every ounce of weight.
