Why choose a BMW 5 Series Estate?
Where do you begin listing the benefits of the 5 series estate for a driver and its passengers? That's the question we asked ourselves before writing this page. As the 5 series is mid to high range for the German car maker it has access to xDrive, Integral active steering and adaptive mode giving a superior driving experience. On the inside, you can expect BMW connected drive which gives you real time traffic information, concierge service and BMW connected apps which includes the heads up display - the absolutely latest in tech.
From an engine point of view you'll get access to BMWs most powerful and economical engines depending on your taste and budget. Lastly, as its an estate you will get the monstrous 1,700 litre boot which is ideal for family trips out or as an executivecompany car.
Engines and trims
The 520i, 530i and 530e petrol engines are all 2.0 litres with power ranging from 184 PS to 252 PS. Upgrade to a 540i for a 3.0 turbo engine, M550i xDrive for 4.4 twin-turbo or the class topping M5 (not available as an estate). For diesels you've got 520d, 525d for the more economical 2.0 engines, followed by the 530d and 540d which are 3.0 powerhouses. Trims are what you'd expect from a BMW but slightly reduced for the estate version, you've got SE and M sport with xDrive four wheel drive available for both trims. Customisation as always can be found in the vast option list.
