New Mini Cooper S Model Derivative
MINI has released a new pack for their Cooper S hatchback which is set to boost the power of the car considerably from the standard model, lifting it to near John Cooper Works levels of performance.
John Cooper Works Price
The new tuning kit priced at an additional £1,900.01 boosts the output of the existing twin-scroll turbocharger in a MINI Cooper S with manual transmission to a lofty 141kM (192bhp), a maximum torque delivery of 250Nm between 1,750 and 2,000 r p/m. There is even an over-boost function which is there to give the car a short burst of extra power between 1,750 and 4,000 rpm - is enough to take the MINI from 0-62mph in just 6.8 seconds and gets it a top speed of 141mph.
Additional Extras
Extras that this package includes are things like the sports exhaust with its eye-catching tailpipe trims in chrome and optimised exhaust gas routing which not only looks good but gives the engine a throatier sound. There is also a specially developed air filter system improving power delivery along with a new engine management system specifically developed to squeeze every last drop of power out of the car and ensuring it delivers punchy acceleration across the rev range. Models up to October were built using John Cooper Works air filter system, sports exhaust in stainless steel, exhaust manifold, modified engine electronics, and a whole host of other details that have now been reserved for the John Cooper Works MINIs only and as such the new tuning kit for the Cooper S has taken precedence. The one feature still included is the John Cooper Works aero pack and rear spoiler as well as the new features such as carbon exterior mirror caps, a carbon-fiber finish on the air inlet and exhaust tips, plus a big selection of new decals along with new alloy wheel designs in 17" or 18" choices.
John Cooper Works Interior
Inside the new cabin, there is a John Cooper Works sports leather steering wheel alongside a gear knob finished in chrome and leather. There are also other accessories that get the JCW treatment and there is an option for illuminated door sills. The whole MINI line-up has always had the edge over other carmakers in that they provide a huge list of customisable aesthetics and options so that your MINI can be totally unique to you, and the new tuning pack for the Cooper S hatch is no different.
