What is car leasing with insurance?

For almost the entire time the contract hire and leasing industry has been around, a contract hire agreement with insurance was non-existent or very rare. The funders who supply the vehicle did not have any agreements with insurance providers or an internal insurance department that they could then offer their service to the end-user.

Car leasing with insurance means exactly what the title says - your same old contract hire agreement with fully comprehensive insurance thrown into the same monthly payment. Less hassle, more convenience and worry-free driving.

Fast forward to 2019 and now brokers such as ourselves are able to offer a fully insured vehicle as a lease deal on thousands of brand new cars.

What’s included in the deal?

Lease cars with Total Care are packed full of amazing benefits for you, the customer. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect after delivery

Total Protection

The insurance cover is no basic package, included you’ll get glass protection, own damage protection including fire and theft, accident management and third party liability cover.

Fixed Monthly Rentals

Fixed monthly rentals means the amount you sign up to pay per month will be the same month for the whole duration of the contract, no interest no worries. Car leasing with insurance deals are exactly the same, and because maintenance and insurance are included it can effectively roll 3 payment into one offering convenience and an easier time for the customer to budget finances.

Guaranteed Maintenance

If you take out an insured lease, a maintenance pack is automatically included as the finance company ensures the vehicle is always at its best to lower the insurance premiums for the end! This means that for the duration of the contract your servicing, tyres, MOTs and consumables are on the house.

You can find more details about the maintenance pack here.

Total Loss Shortfall Protection

Perhaps one of the most reassuring features of a Total Care arrangement is the automatic loss shortfall protection. This means that in the unfortunate event that the vehicle is a write off the finance company will terminate the lease with no financial loss to you so you can get on with sorting out a new car again.

Accident Management

One of the most frustrating things about having an accident is all the extra legwork to sort repairs and deal with any claims. With Total Care, the finance company will sort everything out for you giving you one less thing to do to get back on the road.

Breakdown Cover

If you’ve been stranded or the car is out of action then let the AA take care of you to get you back on the road as soon as possible.

Car Leasing With Insurance

Who can have a lease deal with insurance?

Personal Car Leasing

If you’re leasing as an individual, Total Care is generous with who can drive the vehicle, if you’re the driver, the driver's spouse or partner, immediate family (parents, siblings, children) and they meet the eligibility (discussed after this section) then you can drive the vehicle. This is a lot more than most motor insurance policies!

Business Car Leasing

If the lease is through the business then any employee, employee’s spouse or partner and immediate family (parents, siblings, children) can drive the vehicle provided they meet the eligibility.

Who is eligible for this?

You may be thinking that All Car Leasing is too good to be true. That the criteria would be so strict that not many people can even take this offer on. Well, you’ll be surprised to know that the eligibility criteria is very reasonable and applies to most UK motorists. The specific criteria, in addition to the requirements of a PCH/BCH above, are as follows:

Be a holder of a Full UK/EU driving license which has been valid for at least 1 year

Aged between 21 and 70.

Are fit to drive as judged by the DVLA

Have no more than 6 points on their license

Have 2 or less fault claims within the last 2 years of the day of driving

Not have been banned from driving at any time in the last 5 years

As you can see, car leasing with fully comprehensive insurance built in is very accessible with reasonable conditions. We feel that the vast majority of UK motorists would be a great match for this product so long as they are made aware of it!

Can I lease any vehicle with Total Care?

Practically any vehicle can be leased with Total Care, but there are some restrictions in special circumstances, such as:

  • Vehicles which aren’t cars or LCVs
  • Vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes
  • Vehicles which Arval do not own
  • Cherry Pickers
  • Ice Cream Vans
  • Left hand drive vehicles
  • Vehicles with more than 8 seats for passengers

How much does it cost?

It would be difficult, if not impossible, for our website to give the same price to anyone on the website because the price of the insurance can vary from person to person, as well all know from shopping around once a year every year. The price of the vehicle itself can remain pretty static but the insurance element varies.

With this in mind, to get yourself a quote simply find the car that you want, give us a call on 01565 880 880, email [email protected] or send an enquiry from any vehicle page.
