The Mercedes SLK is a car that’s always been ahead of its time, but the latest model is far more aggressive and looks even sharper than its predecessor. With the latest model, Mercedes have certainly succeeded in their aim to broaden the appeal of the SLK, a car that has long been a favourite of high-flying females.

Mercedes SLK Key Points

With a range of engines – both four and six cylinders – the introduction of a diesel model and over 50mpg, it really is hard to find anything wrong with this car.

The brilliant styling of the new SLK has meant that it easily equals, if not betters, rivals like the BMW Z4 and the Porsche Boxster. The sweeping headlights, gaping grille and low bonnet gives the new SLK the same aggressive stance as other Mercedes in the range.

The SLK was the first car to have a folding metal roof, so it’s pretty obvious that this should come as standard on all future SLKs. As well as the folding roof, alloy wheels and tinted windows also come as standard.

Why Lease a Mercedes SLK?

If you choose the SLK you’re guaranteed Mercedes reliability, a massive choice when it comes to engines and extras. You’ve also got the choice between manual and automatic and petrol and diesels.

The petrol range of engines starts with 184bhp in the four-cylinder SLK 200; the six-cylinder option comes with 306bhp. Alternatively, if you’re looking for even more of a thrill, the SLK 55 AMG with a 5.5 litre engine and 415bhp to shout about, should do the trick.

Perhaps surprisingly, the SLK is also pretty practical. It can hold a decent amount of luggage for its size – in fact, with the roof up the boot is bigger than that of the Ford Focus – and there’s plenty of space inside too, and even with the top down, there’s not a chance you won’t be comfortable.

Five Reasons to Lease a Mercedes SLK

•Plenty of space for its size

•Looks great

•Equals if not exceeds competitors

•Returns as high as 56mpg

If you’re looking for a stylish drop top that you can show off, but you also want to be capable of housing the weekly shop, the SLK is really one that’s not to be missed. If you’re interested, give us a call today on 01565 880 880.
