All Car Leasing are pleased to provide information on one of our most trusted customers, Cerebra, who are an organisation that helps improve the lives of children who suffer from brain related conditions.

We hope that by highlighting their services that we could reach people who have been affected or those who would like to donate to help them continue their great work.

Cerebra – Positively Different

Cerebra is a registered, UK wide charity providing support to children with brain related conditions which includes; brain injuries, neurological disorders, mental disabilities and developmental problems; anything from cerebral palsy to autism, epilepsy to ADHD. Cerebra work with families to make a positive difference to the lives of children with neurological conditions through research, education and on-going family support.

Last year 28,000 families received help and guidance from Cerebra through our parent information service and stress helpline as well as through face-to-face support from our network of regional officers and advice from our trained sleep counsellors. We provide a wide range of services to ensure all aspects of caring for and looking after children are covered because we understand all our families have differing concerns and issues according to their own individual lives.

Services such as our grant scheme: This project provides treatment, therapy and items of equipment not available from statutory services. Grants are given for a range of items, including touch screen computers, specialist car seats, powered wheelchairs, approved therapies, sensory toys, trikes and musical instruments. 500 grants were awarded in 2013 to help families with the cost of expensive but essential items to help with their children’s development.

We also have an Innovation Centre (CIC) which is a research and design service set up to help find specialist equipment and adaptations that are not already available to buy. They are able to offer expertise in the areas of electronics, design and engineering and work with a range of industry partners and other charities to ensure products are tested to the highest standard. The products and equipment allow children and young people to participate fully in family and school life and social activities. In 2013 our Innovation Centre helped 150 families.

One of our most over-subscribed services is a fully-adapted holiday home in South West Wales, Vallecchia, which is offered to families every week of the year. The break allows families to spend quality time together in an environment suitable for any disability. Often it is the first holiday the family has had due to the difficulties of the child’s disability.

We also have a problem sleep service where our Sleep Counsellors work with families to eradicate sleep or night time problems, a postal lending library loaning specialist titles and also sensory toys and equipment.
